Are you actually licensed, and can I check? +
Yes, and you should. Andrew holds a Colorado Master Electrician licence and a Journeyman licence, and AC Electrical Contractors LLC holds a state Electrical Contractor registration in the company's own name. All three are on the public roster held by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies — search his name or the company name and you'll find them.
Do you pull permits? +
Yes — that's what the company's contractor registration is for. Panel and service upgrades, ADUs, additions and commercial work all go through the building department and get inspected. It matters more than people think: unpermitted electrical work has a habit of surfacing at resale or in an insurance claim, years after whoever did it has gone.
What's involved in an EV charger install? +
A look at the panel first, because that's what decides everything. If there's capacity and a spare double slot, it's a dedicated circuit run to wherever the car parks and the charger mounted and tested. If the panel is an older 100-amp board that's already full, the honest answer is that it needs upgrading first — and you'll hear that at the consultation rather than halfway through the job.
My house is from the 1950s and the panel looks original. Is that a problem? +
Common across Denver's older neighbourhoods, and usually the thing quietly limiting the house. A service upgrade is what unlocks an EV charger, a hot tub, a finished basement, an induction range or a heat pump. A safety inspection is the sensible first step — it covers the panel, grounding, bonding and the circuits, and tells you what you're actually dealing with.
Do you work with solar companies and roofers? +
Yes. Detach and reset for roof replacements is on the Denver permit record more than once — the array comes off so the roofer has a clear deck, then goes back on and gets re-energised. A solar company left a five-star review about exactly this kind of collaboration.
